Preservation Agreement
Please read through before reserving your piece. These terms cover your deposit (if applicable), timeline, and what to expect from handmade, dried-flower work.
Please Note
Every piece is made by hand from real flowers, so slight variations in color, shape, and placement are part of what makes your keepsake one of a kind. Dried and pressed flowers are delicate by nature. Colors may shift gently over time, and certain blooms (whites, deep reds, and very full flowers like peonies and roses) can change more than others. Display your piece out of direct sunlight and away from humidity to help it last for years to come.
The Process
Once you reserve your piece, we'll hold a spot on our calendar for your event date. After your event, drop off or overnight ship your flowers to our Franklin, IN studio within 1–2 days for best color. We press, dry, and design your piece over an average of about 22 weeks, then send a draft for your approval before finishing and shipping it home. Read the full process →
Timeline
Typical turnaround is about 22 weeks from when your flowers arrive in the studio. This is an average, not a guarantee. Pieces are designed in the order they come in, and pressing always takes first priority, since that's the step that protects your flowers' color and shape. That means design and finishing timelines can shift depending on how many pieces are actively pressing at any given time. Larger pieces and orders with multiple frames can take longer. If you are ever curious where your flowers are in the process, send us a note!
Sending Us Your Flowers
Get your flowers to us within 1–2 days of your event for best color. Local clients can drop off at the studio; out-of-town clients can overnight ship. We'll send detailed care and drop-off/shipping instructions when you reserve. If flowers arrive later than 1–2 days, or arrive already wilted or damaged in transit, we'll still do everything we can with what we receive, but we can't guarantee the same results we would with fresher blooms. We're always happy to talk through timing before your event if you're unsure.
Limitations of Dried Flowers
Pressing and drying preserves the shape and story of your flowers, but it can't perfectly preserve their original color. Whites often turn cream or tan, deep reds can darken, and some petals become more translucent. Heavy blooms like peonies and roses are taken apart and rebuilt by hand. Every finished piece is a beautiful, lasting version of your flowers but know that it is not an exact replica of how they looked on your event day.
Care and Handling
Your frame arrives with hanging hardware appropriate to its size and weight. HLB is not responsible for damage resulting from improper installation, incompatible wall anchors, or wall conditions — please select hardware suited to your wall type, or consult a hardware professional if unsure. To protect your piece, avoid direct sunlight and high-humidity areas (e.g., bathrooms, kitchens), which can accelerate fading and encourage mold. If you experience any issue with your frame, please contact us before attempting repairs yourself.
Reserving Your Spot
A $100 deposit holds your spot on our calendar and is non-refundable. If your plans change, your deposit is fully transferable to a new date with at least 30 days' notice before your original event. Final payment is due two weeks before your event date.
Your Draft & Final Approval
Before anything is glued into place, we'll send you a draft of your design for approval. Once you approve it, we begin finishing the piece, and it can't be changed after that point. We know it's a big decision, so take the time you need, but please know that approval means we're moving forward as shown.
If we don't hear back within two weeks, we'll follow up. If we still don't hear from you after that, we'll move forward with the design as drafted so your piece doesn't sit indefinitely.
If Plans Change
Weddings and events shift, and we understand that. If you need to cancel altogether, your deposit is non-refundable, but any additional payments made beyond the deposit will be refunded. If you need to reschedule, see the deposit transfer policy above.
Sharing Your Story
We love celebrating the pieces we create. Unless you let us know otherwise, we may photograph your finished piece and share it on our website and social media. We'll never share personal details, just the beauty of the piece itself.
