preservation
how it works
We’ll need your blooms as soon as possible after your event to ensure they dry beautifully! We’re located just a minute from the I-65 exit in Franklin, making drop-off super easy. We also offer porch pickup, so you can leave your bouquet at your convenience — day or night.
Once we have your flowers, they’ll spend about 10 weeks drying before we begin designing. We work in the order flowers are received, taking care with each one to preserve its unique beauty. As soon as we start creating your piece, we’ll be in touch with a draft design for your approval before finalizing your frame.
final design approval
Every client gets the chance to collaborate directly with us to create a piece you’ll cherish for years. Once your order is in the design stage, you’ll receive a mock-up of the arrangement to review and approve before the final product is glued. You can request up to three tweaks or changes to the design before it’s finalized and prepared for shipping.
terms + conditions
THE PROCESS
- I understand that I am responsible for the shipping or drop-off of the flowers to Hattie Lou Blooms.
- I understand that if flowers aren’t delivered within 3 days of the event, they may be too damaged to work with. In that case, I may be given the option to switch to a smaller frame or adjust the layout style to make the most of the flowers. If the blooms can’t be saved at all, they will be discarded, and my order will be canceled with a refund issue
- I understand that flowers will be pressed in the condition they arrive, which means that any natural bruising or damage may also be visible in the finished piece. If a few blooms can’t be used, I’ll have the opportunity to purchase replacement stems through Hattie Lou Bloom's trusted local florist.
- I understand that flowers naturally change during the preservation process, and some colors may shift over time (for example, whites may soften to yellow and reds may take on a purple hue). These changes are a natural part of the process and add to the unique beauty of the finished piece.
- I understand that not every flower or element in a bouquet can be pressed and framed, as some may be too thick or too large for the frame. When this happens, we will thoughtfully select and preserve the blooms that work best to create a beautiful finished piece.
- I understand that I can request to have any unused pressed elements of my bouquet returned to me. If I don’t request this, the remaining pressed flowers and greenery will be kept by Hattie Lou Blooms to be thoughtfully used in future creations.
FINAL PRODUCT
- I understand that once my bouquet is designed, I’ll receive a mock-up of the arrangement to review and approve before the final product is glued. I can request up to three changes or tweaks to the design before it’s finalized.
- I understand that there may be slight variations in the final piece from the draft because the flowers are removed entirely from the glass, the glass is cleaned and prepped for glue, and then the flowers are repositioned back on the glass.
CANCELLATION POLICY
If you request to cancel your order within 48 hours of placing it, you will be refunded in full. After 48 hours, your frame is already in production, and we are unable to refund the cost of your frame; however, we can refund your payment minus the cost of your frame. If you would like to cancel your order after you have delivered your flowers, a 20% fee and the cost of your frame will be withheld.
If you would like to cancel your order, please contact us with your information and the reason for cancellation.
RETURN POLICY
We’re unable to accept returns or issue refunds on the final custom piece since each is made specifically for you. However, if an error occurs on our part, please contact us, and we’ll do everything we can to correct it. To ensure your order is just right, be sure to provide clear details of your vision when placing it. You’ll also receive a mock-up of your design for review and approval before the final piece is completed!
fresh blooms
why did Hattie want to start her own flower business?
Hattie filled the summer of 2022 with lemonade stands, and this got her mind going. The downside to the lemonade stand was she often had leftover product that went to waste. Her family challenged her to think of a solution, and one spring day out popped, "Do you think we could sell our flowers?" Hattie Lou Blooms officially opened on Mother's Day 2023 with limited marketing in our neighborhood Facebook group, but she sold out in just two hours! Off to the store we ran to buy more seeds and got busy planting.
what flowers does she grow?
What flowers does she grow?
That is a loaded question because we are always experimenting with new seeds in the garden. You can expect to find the following in an HLB bouquet though:
- Sunflowers
- Hydrangeas
- Zinnias
- Lilac (spring/early summer only)
- Peonies (spring/early summer only)
- Black-Eyed Susans
- Cosmos
- Roses
- Dahlias
are you able to fill large orders, like for a party, shower, wedding, etc?
The short answer is we've done it before, and we'd love to try again! It really just depends on what our bloom inventory looks like at that given time. Send us a message with all the deets, and we'll do our best to make it happen.
what organization is Hattie raising money for right now?
You can find the most up-to-date information on what goal Hattie is working toward on her Facebook page or on Instagram.
do the flowers come in a jar or vase?
They sure do! All set and ready to gift. (Or keep...you deserve flowers, too!)
how can I suggest a charity for Hattie to support?
Hattie loves hearing about the organizations near and dear to your heart. If you'd like to make a suggestion for Hattie's next $100 donation goal, send us a message with the organization's name and a quick note about why you think it rocks.
how can I support Hattie Lou Blooms if I'm not in the Franklin, Indiana area?
That's so kind of you! If you aren't near enough to grab blooms, you can order "pay it forward" bouquets or donate money toward the purchase of more seeds for the next planting season. Send us a message so we can work out the details and properly thank you.
